About The Position

Architect, design, code, and implement technical solutions using software engineering best practices and current technologies. Provide technical support and guidance for developing and maintaining automation artifacts, including the automation framework, grid, and scripts. Mentor and train team members on automation and help them adopt project requirements. Work with the integration team to facilitate automation runs in the Integration environment. Provide expertise in automation test framework development; automation test development with Java, Selenium, Cucumber, and Gherkin; and execution of automation test suites and defect documentation. Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance and work on-site in Woodlawn, Maryland, five days a week. Education and experience must meet one of these combinations: a master's degree and five years of experience, a bachelor's degree and seven years of experience, or 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Requirements

• Strong experience developing Selenium automation frameworks using JUnit/TestNG and developing Maven targets to execute automation suites.
• Experience setting up and maintaining Selenium Grid for parallel test execution and cross-platform testing.
• Experience developing test scripts implementing Features, Test Scenarios, and Step-Definitions in a customized test automation framework.
• Experience configuring and executing automated regression suites using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and/or Selenium Grid.
• Experience developing automated tests for web services using customized frameworks and tools such as Parasoft, REST Assured, and SOAP UI.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, DB2, or Oracle, and SQL experience querying data to verify test results.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Scrum and/or Kanban Agile development processes, terminology, and ceremonies.
• Experience acting as a Scrum Master on Agile software development projects.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
• Willingness to work on-site in Woodlawn, Maryland, five days per week.
• Education and experience: master's degree and five years of experience, bachelor's degree and seven years of experience, or 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• In-depth knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) approaches to automation testing.
• Practical software development experience using Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience creating and executing manual test scripts and documenting test results and defects.
• Experience using Parasoft for functional and API testing and environment virtualization.
• Knowledge of web services technologies such as REST, SOAP, XML, and JSON, and experience testing web services.
• Experience developing automated REST API tests using REST Assured or other Java-based libraries.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or UiPath; Playwright is preferred.
• Experience with source code versioning and pull requests using Git and Stash.
• Knowledge of the Social Security Administration's modern development environment, including Git/Stash, VersionOne (Agility), Confluence, SonarQube, and Checkmarx.
• Experience with cloud or virtualization technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Docker.
• Exposure to AI-assisted test automation development.
• Experience building self-healing automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of synthetic data generation methods, with or without AI.
• Experience configuring and executing automation tests in containers.
