About The Position

The Senior Associate, Accounting, is responsible for the implementation of monthly accounting processes for BREIT, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry standards. The Senior Associate will also partner with Blackstone in preparing monthly consolidated financials and analysis. This position is based out of the Revantage office in Chicago, IL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary
  • Self-starter with strong team leadership and problem-solving skills, the aptitude to think independently, and the motivation to work with multiple teams in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in maintaining the monthly operational procedures for BREIT fund ensuring efficiency and scalability with the month-end close process.
  • Lead month-end close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and review monthly reports with a focus on the following areas: Equity Cash Derivatives Assets and Liabilities P&L variance analysis 1031 exchange accounting Performance incentive accounting Debt and interest expense Offering costs
  • Work closely with Blackstone to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.
  • Establish and refine accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, reporting, and reconciliation through automation and process improvements.
  • Establish internal controls to safeguard financial accuracy and compliance with regulatory and investor requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures, and supporting schedules
  • Take ownership of deliverables, proactively identifying areas of improvement in reporting and operational processes.
