About The Position

Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST), located in Orlando, Florida, is part of Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS), headquartered in Londonderry, New Hampshire. ALST designs and develops electro-optical laser systems for military defense applications, including laser range finders and laser designators. The company describes itself as an established leader in this field and offers an alternative work schedule and the opportunity to work with a talented and diverse group of professionals. The Sr. Associate, Manufacturing Engineer makes recommendations for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes supporting the production, integration, testing, and qualification of laser rangefinder and related electro-optical systems. The role provides technical support throughout the product lifecycle, including new product introduction, production readiness, manufacturing execution, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. It includes developing manufacturing documentation; supporting precision mechanical assembly, optical alignment, and electronics integration; and implementing tooling and process improvements to promote quality, repeatability, and production efficiency. The engineer may also support process development, complex root-cause investigations, production transitions, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and technician mentorship. The position works on problems of moderate scope, applying judgment within defined procedures and practices and contributing to analysis and investigation. It generally receives little instruction for day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments. It builds internal and external working relationships, collaborates to resolve shared problems, provides standard professional advice, and prepares initial reports and analyses for review by experienced professionals.
