About The Position

The Sr. Associate Director of Financial Aid & Data Analysis is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Office, serving as the second in command. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines, implements policies and procedures, manages software upgrades, maintains database integrity, and directly supervises other staff members. The position involves significant data analysis and report generation related to financial aid programs and student populations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum five years of related experience in financial aid administration.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial aid programs and regulations regarding Federal Pell Grants, Title IV Campus-Based programs, Pennsylvania State Grants, and Direct Loans.
  • Substantial experience in financial aid counseling, packaging awards, reporting processes, and financial aid computer systems.
  • Powerfaids, Datatel/JRM knowledge is a requirement.
  • Knowledgeable about and abides by all NCAA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as part of a seven-person team responsible for training and the daily workflow of the office.
  • Act as the primary supervisory back-up in the absence of the director.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of other staff members, including Senior Financial Aid Counselors and/or technology administrators.
  • Set up and program Cost of Attendance Budgets, awarding algorithms, selection sets, and custom reports.
  • Oversee the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process, including running reports to identify students needing warning letters and completing SAP forms.
  • Create, follow, and maintain a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting calendar.
  • Prepare regularly scheduled reports related to institutional, state, and federal programs and student populations.
  • Prepare other reports as assigned, including those for Institutional Research and Enrollment Management.
  • Oversee and perform the transfer of aid (disbursements) to individual accounts in conjunction with the Business Office and produce reports.
  • Set up and maintain all software, automated packaging, Powerfaids upgrades, parameter roll, and preparations for next year's setup.
  • Manage weekly disbursements and federal Pell grant originations and disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations, including departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies.
  • Prepare reports required for annual FISAP, PHEAA review, and external and internal audits.
  • Serve as Module Manager.
  • Analyze and maintain a database of all students, reconciling admitted student tracking and deposits with institutional aid advances.
  • Research discrepancies between databases and correct records accordingly.
  • Prepare reports of institutional aid spending.
  • Generate reports for Institutional Research, including AICUP, Factbook, NACUBO, PCHE, Princeton RDS, and US News Report.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
