About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a dynamic Configuration Management professional. The primary goal of this role is to maintain the integrity of system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, records, and associated configuration information using established configuration processes and controls. This role also provides on-demand support to various engineering and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, and other tasking as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 6 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

- Knowledge of ANSI/EIA-649, CM best practices, MIL-HDBK-61B or equivalent configuration management standards
- Knowledge of release workflows, revision control, naming conventions, part numbering, and record retention requirements
- Experience developing or improving CM procedures, work instructions, and process documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for providing guidance, training, and support to users
- Working knowledge of the following: CMMi, Costpoint ERP, SharePoint, MS Power Platform, MS Office (especially Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)
- Experience in configuration management or in a role where configuration control standards were followed in an engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or technical environment
- Experience handling engineering documentation, such as drawings, specifications, bills of materials, baselines, or other technical records
- Experience supporting or managing engineering changes, including reviewing, coordinating, tracking, or approving change requests or change documents
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify Configuration Management processes and procedures and ensure that they are followed on projects
- Review and provide feedback on configuration and design aspects of documentation releases
- Analyze change notices to technical product documentation to determine the effect on programs
- Administer CM tools used to store, track and manage configuration items
- Support performing audits to ensure adherence to CM processes and procedures
- Management and administration of the source CAD data product data management
- Management of full product detail including engineering and manufacturing technical documentation
- Assist in training document management system users
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
- Actively participate in internal and customer audits
- Cross train with other functions within the department
