Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or relevant discipline or 10+ years of equivalent related experience.
  • Significant experience in Operations, Business, Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of operations’ role in the Supply Chain.
  • Leverage and mentor Color Wheel concepts and ability to adjust leadership style.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in the people management and/or technical areas of expertise (or aptitude to learn) described in the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, influence and lead a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with individuals across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in LEAN business practices.
  • Role model, teach 4 step simple problem solving, LSW, Visual Management, 5S.
  • Financial Acumen required for managing department budgets.
  • Competent Digital, Computer skills and applications for operations.
  • Skills to multi-task in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multiple plants, product systems and staff experience, along with leadership of a non-exempt workforce is highly desired.
  • Certified First Aid/Medical considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the loss control improvement process by championing and complying with critical safety rules.
  • Visibly demonstrate that safety is a core value by role modeling and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Ensure that the development of processes, standards and equipment meets national, local and K-C safety codes, policies and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate quality as a core value.
  • Responsible for understanding and holding team accountable for upholding K-C’s Quality policy and standards.
  • Achieve objectives around quality metrics (i.e. significant events, RFT, Cost of quality).
  • Build strong relationships across the Mill teams to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Manage teams in accordance with the expected K-C Values and Ways of Working.
  • Lead with high expectations around safety and team support.
  • Provide day-to-day directions to operations, reliability and engineering team members.
  • Manage cost of manufacturing (i.e. operating supplies, waste, labor, maintenance, etc.).
  • Develop strategy and tools to provide accurate forecasts and conformance to forecasted spending.
