About The Position

The Sr. Applications Engineer serves as an internal interface among sales, R&D, product development, and production, from the initial enquiry through customer acceptance, and communicates extensively with customers. The role provides timely, professional technical and commercial support and uses available tools, including sizing programs, to match products to customer requirements. Experience with thermal applications in the data center industry is preferred; refrigeration or similar experience is also relevant. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided.

Requirements

Engineering background or equivalent education, with proven experience in a technical role.
Fundamental thermodynamic knowledge.
Fluent English language skills.
Good knowledge of ERP and CRM systems and the MS Office suite.
Distinct customer orientation.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong persuasive and negotiation skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Systematic approach to work.
High degree of flexibility and resiliency.
Valid driver’s license.
Readiness for extensive travel.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience working in an engineering field.
Advanced knowledge of heat transfer technology.
Knowledge of selection and sizing programs.
Intermediate knowledge of computer technology and programs.
Advanced communicative skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with thermal applications in the data center industry.
Experience in refrigeration or similar fields.
Knowledge of white space cooling and heat rejection of data centers.

Responsibilities

Coordinate between sales, R&D, product development, and production from initial enquiry through customer acceptance.
Communicate with customers and provide comprehensive technical and commercial support in a timely and professional manner.
Use available tools, including sizing programs, to match the division’s products to or exceed customer requirements.
Participate in defining and evaluating target prices.
Analyze market development for company products and contribute to further market development.
Plan and follow up on customer visits and trade shows.
Maintain quotation, customer, and order data in the CRM system.
Adhere to quality requirements within the Quality Management system.
Ensure Kelvion’s Standard of Excellence, including quality, is incorporated into products.
