About The Position

FUJIFILM Electronic Materials, U.S.A., Inc., a global leader in chemical solutions for the semiconductor industry, is seeking a Sr. Applications Engineer for its Mesa, AZ facility. This role will support the CMP applications development group, working closely with the CMP applications management team. The engineer will leverage their knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and instrumentation to collaborate with various departments on cutting-edge CMP technology development. FUJIFILM Electronic Materials provides advanced materials and formulations that enable the production of microchips powering AI, computers, electric vehicles, and smartphones. The company has six U.S. manufacturing and R&D facilities and is part of a global organization headquartered in Tokyo.

Requirements

  • A BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Chemistry and 6 plus years of experience is required.
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision to achieve goals in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Track record of problem solving and technical creativity
  • Knowledge of defect analysis, statistical analyses and ability to understand and interpret data
  • Must have experience with Power Point, Excel or other software tools to generate concise presentations.
  • Must have demonstrated communication skills and proven team player.
  • Proven self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Proven experience working in a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment.
  • One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Nice To Haves

  • An MS degree and 3 plus years of experience or a PhD with 0 to 2 years of experience is preferred.
  • experience with Klarity software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Takes direction from CMP laboratory management team in support of existing and new instruments
  • Creates recipes and new methodology development on CMP metrology instruments
  • Make continuous improvements to enhance the performance of instruments
  • Coordinates with application and formulation team to ensure tasks and projects are completed to target and on schedule
  • Defines and maintains equipment KPI for quality, uptime and costs
  • Takes full ownership and becomes technical expert for the respective instrument specialization
  • Maintains SPC charts for lab equipment
  • Documents SOP, BKM, PM of CMP instrumentation
  • Manages service contract by working with vendors and purchase team
  • Facilitates training for other technicians/engineers for the new tools and new methodology
  • Seeks to streamline and automate instrument data analysis and reporting
  • Supports instrument evaluation/demo for new tools per CMP business needs
