About The Position

The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for the analysis, building, testing and implementing of information systems and solutions. The Senior Application Analyst is accountable for providing knowledge and skills in assigned software applications and various system environments. The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for developing and following project schedules, plans, reviews and timelines. The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for functioning as a technical resource and to provide knowledge in system installations, building, testing, customization and production support of complex information systems. The Senior Application Analyst participates in project teams, coordinates work assignments and performs complex problem resolution as identified. The Senior Application Analyst designs training plans, conducts and evaluates training sessions for end-users and Information Systems staff. The Senior Application Analyst may lead or support the Project Management activities required to deliver business-oriented, valuable and relevant solutions. The Senior Application Analyst reports directly to the Manager, and works under the guidance of the Lead Application Analyst. The Senior Application Analyst applies technical skills, in line with MH’s values and goals, to assure the efficient, effective and consistent delivery of high quality services. The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to the values of the corporation through active participation in Partners in Caring, Customer Service and Continuous Quality Improvement programs. The Senior Application Analyst – Process Administration supports the design, analysis, testing, and implementation of healthcare information systems and workflows. This role partners with stakeholders and technical teams to translate business needs into effective solutions, document current and future state processes, and contribute to system improvements that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

Requirements

Associates degree and two (2) years experience or four (4) years experience in lieu of degree
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in a large, corporate systems development and implementation activities in a wide variety of Healthcare Management Information Systems (MIS)
technical experience in system analysis, design, building, testing and implementation preferred
Experience in supporting complex problems
Experience assisting other analysts
Planning and organizational skills
Demonstrated record of good communication skills
Industry training and increasingly responsible experience with knowledge and skills in a large, complex corporate Information System
Strong knowledge application support, development tools and methodologies

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing technical knowledge in the support of software applications and various system environments.
Performs the analysis, design, building, testing, and implementing of computer programs and systems.
Demonstrates and applies information systems theory, processes and methodologies.
Develops, prioritizes and executes projects according to established schedules and timeframes.
Maintains an effective level of coordination on all assigned projects.
Documents and reports on all plans, priorities and schedules.
Informs Manager on status of all projects and assignments in the form of weekly activity reports.
Translates user systems needs into alternative technical solutions.
Performs project reviews and process walkthroughs incorporating technical and business solutions that will enhance user productivity and department service levels.
Acts as an advocate for setting and enforcing technical development, application support and information management standards within and outside of the information systems department.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and techniques in supporting Application Analysts and Senior Application Analysts in development projects and complex problem solving efforts.
Participates in after-hours technical support by rotating call schedule on a regular basis.
Prepares and conducts training sessions for staff.
Provides effective Customer Service by being courteous, polite and friendly toward others at all times.
Acknowledges customers immediately in order to determine need and help the customer resolve issue or request.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Manager or Team Lead.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
