About The Position

This Senior Tax Operations role will support the corporate tax department primarily in the following areas: federal and state tax compliance processes, including preparation and review of tax returns, quarterly estimates and annual extensions; quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision processes; 1099 reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Three to five years previous tax experience, preferably two+ years in public accounting or large corporate tax department.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team; flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize assignments, and meet critical and established deadlines.
  • Demonstrates analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Learns quickly/implements new procedures, software tools, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and adjust priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Forward-thinking approach to technology and process optimization

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Tax preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience with accounting and tax software systems (Hyperion, SAP and Corptax) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review federal income tax returns, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal tax laws and filing requirements.
  • Prepare and/or review state income and franchise tax returns.
  • Monitor state filing requirements and coordinate compliance activities across jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly estimated tax calculations and annual extension filings.
  • Ensure timely submission of payments and filings.
  • Support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.
  • Prepare and analyze current and deferred tax calculations, tax account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of annual 1099 reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS reporting requirements and filing deadlines.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain accurate vendor information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen controls.
  • Support the implementation of technology and automation solutions within the tax function.
