About The Position

PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Analyst, Systems Analysis in San Jose, CA. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and manage business requirements for data and payment systems. The analyst will lead efforts to design and maintain scalable data models, transaction frameworks, and reporting capabilities that support organizational objectives. A key part of the role is partnering with Data Technology teams to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of data delivery across platforms. The analyst will also monitor and maintain critical business system processes to ensure continuous and reliable service, and identify, triage, and coordinate the resolution of production issues in collaboration with development and operations teams. Additionally, the role includes developing and maintaining performance dashboards, providing analytical insights to support strategic decision-making, conducting ad hoc data analysis and performance evaluations to identify improvement opportunities, and contributing to the design of future-state system solutions while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals. Partial telecommuting is permitted from within a commutable distance.

Requirements

Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field, plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field, plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Experience with SQL and relational database management systems, including MySQL or Oracle DB (3 years).
Experience developing interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau or Looker (2 years).
Experience designing and implementing scalable data models and ETL pipelines (3 years).
Experience performing data analysis and statistical modeling using Python (2 years).
Experience designing and building scalable data analytics solutions (1 year).
Experience with Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning techniques (1 year).
Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and data architectures (3 years).
Experience managing production data systems, diagnosing issues, and implementing performance improvements (2 years).
