About The Position

At Travelers, Research Operations professionals collaborate across the company to inform business decisions, drive winning go-to-market strategies and enable the business to capitalize on change. They provide strategic consulting and actionable insights; helping the business grow profitably, build the Travelers brand, and positively position the company in the marketplace. The Research Operations team enhances researcher productivity and efficiency by using qualitative and quantitative methods to understand target audiences and analyze market data, thereby providing valuable insights for the enterprise. They utilize various tools and platforms to compile and deliver these insights, aiding in identifying growth opportunities and monitoring industry trends. As a Senior Research Operations Analyst, you manage project operational activities including audience sampling approaches, analytical and reporting support for programming online surveys, project logistics, data analytics and reporting of increasing complexity. This role requires hands-on proficiency across our research technology ecosystem and the ability to manage multiple complex, concurrent studies. This person will work closely with research partners to help ensure questionnaires, quotas, and data meet high standards of quality, while also supporting quality control and coordination of vendor teams. Success in this role means being comfortable with shifting priorities and ongoing process improvements as part of the everyday work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, mathematics, statistics, social sciences, or comparable analytical degree.
  • 4 or more years of market research, business intelligence, or related experience.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills (including an ability to explain and show work done on).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Able to create and cultivate relationships/a network and use it to inform business outcomes with moderate guidance from manager.
  • Ability to analyze and derive observations from quantitative or qualitative data.
  • Demonstrated Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability with tools like Qualtrics, SPSS, Access, SAS, Wincross, FuelCycle, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Qlik, Tableau, or related software.
  • 2 years of market research, business intelligence, or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with research team, business partners, and/or leadership to ensure understanding of business problem, context, and audience to inform execution of the work.
  • Program online surveys, manage data collection through fielding, set up data tables, and generate initial findings.
  • Support data quality efforts to help ensure accuracy and integrity across projects.
  • Set up initial findings and data into final deliverable report or dashboard.
  • Work on a variety of projects of increasing complexity across all businesses.
  • Contribute recommendations and feedback on solution designs to researchers and team management.
  • Align solutions to enterprise legal, security, software development, and finance/compliance standards.
  • Perform quality control checks for research projects executed across the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
