About The Position

The Sr. Research Analyst provides research expertise to support the California offices, practice areas and business development efforts, including research related to markets, industries, and competitors. This role will craft alerts, assist in attorney training and provide feedback on new research tools. Weil seeks the best and brightest talent to join our Administrative Staff team. Requirements

  • Substantial research skills and a deep understanding of research strategies
  • Strong reference skills; ability to use a range of legal and non-legal resources
  • Litigation, IP and corporate research experience
  • Familiarity with the firm's portfolio of content such as Lexis Advance, Westlaw, Intelligize, Fastcase, Bloomberg BNA, PacerPro, Wolters Kluwer Cheetah, Capital IQ
  • Demonstrated teaching ability
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to distill and present research work product in a concise, professional manner
  • Evidence of teamwork, strong work ethic, creativity, and flexibility
  • Master’s Degree in Library Science required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI tools a plus

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, package, and present information in response to requests from attorneys and colleagues in research function as well as other departments in the Firm.
  • Manage a high volume of routine and complex research requests across all practice areas in addition to document retrieval requests, requests to mine websites and other sources, and requests to populate spreadsheets with specified data.
  • Create alerts for ongoing monitoring of clients, industries, and events.
  • Investigate and aid in the implementation of new technologies and systems relevant to research services.
  • Participate in learning programs and orientation cycles for new attorneys, Summer and Fall Associates.
  • Any additional responsibilities as required by management.
