About The Position

The Senior Analyst of Menu Strategy plays a key role in the success of Home Chef’s business through ownership of the Extras menu and associated culinary processes. The candidate will be responsible for managing assortment, driving innovation within their vertical, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to bring the product to life. The position is part of the Culinary team within Product and reports to the Director of Menu Strategy. The role is based in Chicago, IL with some travel.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a rigorous fast-paced work environment
  • Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and initiatives simultaneously with a results-oriented approach
  • Strong Excel/Google sheets experience
  • Independent self-starter inclined towards finding solutions without significant oversight
  • Passion for food and must be able to taste and provide thorough feedback on every meal and ingredient sample test in the kitchen (includes vegetarian, pork, chicken, steak, and seafood)

Responsibilities

  • Run entire menu setting process within respective menu vertical (e.g. Extras, Family, etc.) including but not limited to leveraging insights, culinary R&D, photography and content, and financial metrics to design, set, publish, and track menu success
  • Communicate and build alignment with internal and external stakeholders to remove roadblocks and prioritize projects; serve as a partner with Culinary and Supply Chain in thinking about the next generation of products
  • Identify projects and ad-hoc analyses meant to yield actionable takeaways for future menu implementation
  • Execute weekly and monthly KPI tracking and analysis of menus - including financial (revenue, food, and margin) metrics and other quantitative (rating) or qualitative (reviews) metrics
  • Work with all available internal and external stakeholders to innovate, ideate, source, and develop new products, processes and customer experiences
  • Source and stress test new product ideas in collaboration with Consumer Insights, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Culinary, Operations teams
  • Interpret data, research and trends that impact the meal solutions eCommerce space and develop actionable insights for execution
  • Integrate voice of customer into all aspects of the work and cooperate with Consumer Insights to transform these learnings into tangible actions
  • Collaborate internally with Culinary, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Ops and others to ensure smooth and successful delivery of projects
  • Communicate ongoing performance, project updates, and priorities within Home Chef to ensure organizational alignment
  • Develop and source all inputs to shepherd projects through the Home Chef stage gate process
  • Seek to optimize vertical bringing forth data driven decisions and thinking through ways to drive improvements to the top and bottom line
  • Collaborate on best practices and share learnings with peers working on other product types
  • Set the mid- to long-term product vision for the respective vertical and ensure alignment across Home Chef teams
  • Review weekly menus to ensure all products (e.g. meal kits, extras) are merchandised / assigned accurately and meet production guardrails
  • Execute any ad-hoc menu changes and communicate changes to cross-functional partners
  • Support development and maintenance of R&D and various Menu Strategy team tools within Google Workspace
