About The Position

DXC Technology is seeking a highly motivated team member, to provide Desktop Support services at our Halifax site- Nova Scotia.

Requirements

  • Must hold Secret Level II Security Clearance (Canada)
  • Bachelors degree in an IT related field or Minimum 2 years hands on experience as Desktop Support
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must have ticketing system experience (preferably ServiceNow)
  • PC/Desktop Support knowledge including Microsoft Windows 11 and office applications
  • Administering Windows Share\File permissions.
  • Mobile connectivity (E.g. secureID/MAS/ )
  • Knowledge of MCM (formerly SCCM)
  • Good knowledge of HP Workstation, Desktops & Laptops
  • Ability to support incidents & issues raised on the Service Desk

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of networks is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Providing telephone and email support for all applications, proprietary programs and computer equipment used by the firm
  • Ensuring the 2nd-level support is monitored at all times during hours of operation.
  • Desktop support: IMAC’s Installations, Moves, Additions and Changes, Break-Fix of all in-scope managed devices, Hands and Eyes Support to visually verify the state of managed devices, Desktop Support including special project activities, Asset Management & Stock Management
  • To manage the lifecycle of loan user equipment
  • Responding to requests in a courteous, professional, and appropriate manner
  • Documenting requests using a ticketing system.
  • Assessing and resolving all support requests based on urgency, type of issue and available resources.
  • Applying problem-solving techniques to resolve Help Desk issues prior to escalating.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing software and hardware problems and arranging for repairs as appropriate.
  • Onsite daily at client location in Halifax, NS
  • Other duties as assigned
