Sr Agentic AI Engineer
About The Position
This hybrid position is based at one of PepsiCo’s offices in Purchase, New York; Plano, Texas; or Chicago, Illinois. The Sr Agentic AI Engineer designs, develops, prototypes, iterates, and deploys domain-specific AI agents and solutions. The role is the technical complement to the AI Solutions Lead and works closely with transformation teams, business stakeholders, and AI platform teams to build scalable, cross-domain AI solutions that generate actionable insights and perform intelligent tasks. The position involves substantial autonomy in technical AI model development and implementation, under the strategic direction and general guidance of the Senior AI Solutions Manager. The role manages complex AI/ML projects, large datasets, and integrations with existing systems, with a focus on scalability. It involves regular interaction with Data Science, Engineering, IT, digital products, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of total experience in software development, machine learning, data science, or AI.
- Proven experience leading AI projects, with hands-on code development and software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience and working knowledge of Agentic AI frameworks, such as Langchain, CrewAi, MCP, or A2A.
- Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding and experience designing AI agents and integrating advancements in AI/ML technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Prototype, iterate, and bring domain-specific AI agents into production, including agents that communicate and work with other agents to gather information, generate insights, and take intelligent actions.
- Write and optimize code for high-performance AI models.
- Develop an actionable Generative AI roadmap and drive solution development using Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities.
- Collaborate with transformation teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and tailor AI agents to specific domains.
- Work with AI platform teams to build scalable, cross-domain AI agents and ensure end-to-end observability.
- Lead AI projects through hands-on code development and software engineering.
- Deploy, monitor, and optimize AI agents on cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Stay current with AI and machine learning advancements and integrate them into existing or new AI agents.
- Test and validate AI agents and solutions to ensure reliability and accuracy.
