Saving children.® As a Sr. Advisor, Area Development in the South Texas region, you will be a driving force behind our mission to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring we grow giving and exceed revenue goals, enabling cutting-edge medical care and research. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow giving and meet revenue goals with St. Jude donors and supporters in the Houston market. As a senior member of the South Texas fundraising team, you will activate, support, and inspire high-value volunteers and committees to identify and acquire new donors through relationships, events, and community activations. You will manage a blended portfolio of annual and corporate donors, as well as leadership volunteers, with responsibility for retaining and growing donor giving through personalized stewardship, strategic cultivation, and relationship management. This senior position will lead revenue generation, expense management, and relationship building for the St. Jude Houston Golf Classic and the Houston Crawfish for a Cure event through a volunteer leadership team and key partners. Additionally, you will lead the iHeart Houston (cluster), KKBQ 93Q Country and KMJQ 102.1 Majic St. Jude Radiothons, managing year-round support and cultivation of these media partners and executing 2- and 3-day Radiothons. These business areas will drive a minimum of $2.2 M in revenue generation. Flexibility is required as the South Texas Area continues to grow.

Requirements

  • 6 or more years of relevant experience in fundraising, development, customer service, or sales.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this role.
  • Experience managing strategic corporate, media, or community partnerships preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex fundraising campaigns, sponsorship initiatives, radiothons, or multi-day fundraising events that require significant cross-functional coordination and relationship management.
  • Experience in Philanthropy: Relational event experience with committee, board, and corporate engagement encompassing strategic planning and execution of premier gala events.
  • Corporate Sector Relationships: Ideally possess existing relationships within the corporate sector and the ability to prospect new corporate sponsors and donors.
  • Executive Volunteer Leadership: Experience managing high-level executive volunteer leadership committees.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute iconic signature event experiences that transcend expectations, from intimate gatherings to grand galas, with recruitment and cultivation of high-profile committees.
  • Manage projects autonomously with an eye for detail.
  • Utilize exceptional interpersonal and relationship development skills to forge deep connections with corporate partners and individuals, fostering relationships that extend beyond transactions.
  • Engage through face-to-face interactions and strategic communication to recruit new corporate sponsors and nurture existing partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), monitoring progress, evaluating outcomes, and guiding necessary adjustments.
  • Empower volunteers and donors with motivation, direction, and resources through various communication channels to drive fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop compelling and purpose-driven cultivation and stewardship strategies to enhance engagement and philanthropic contributions from St. Jude donors.
  • Build, maintain, and manage a blended portfolio of 75-100 corporate, individual leadership annual donors, and leadership volunteers.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate, individual, major, and leadership annual donors, and volunteers, retaining support and fostering growth in contributions.
  • Collaborate closely with program owners in Development to enhance donor and volunteer relationship management, ensuring seamless integration of stewardship, financial analysis, and program alignment.
  • Leverage high-level understanding of data systems to drive effective stewardship strategies, analyzing donor interactions and engagement details to tailor personalized touchpoints.
  • Represent ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in all interactions, showcasing the hospital's dedication and the impactful work of the fundraising organization.
  • Manage strategic corporate, media, or community partnerships.
  • Lead complex fundraising campaigns, sponsorship initiatives, radiothons, or multi-day fundraising events requiring significant cross-functional coordination and relationship management.
  • Develop multiple high-value ($1M+ revenue-producing events including dinners, galas, golf tournaments) with growth rates and expense ratios assigned by territory and area leadership.
  • Convey complex ideas in a clear, relatable manner, influencing and inspiring others through writing and speaking.
  • Build enduring and fruitful relationships with a strong donor-centric focus and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams and individuals, including the internal area and enterprise team, volunteers, and other stakeholders, to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors.
  • Conduct prospect research on potential donors and develop sponsorship proposals.
  • Engage in relational event experience with committee, board, and corporate engagement encompassing strategic planning and execution of premier gala events.
  • Hold a senior role within the South Texas area office, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a strategic mindset focused on increased revenue and unique and creative ways to engage volunteers and new donors.
  • Prospect new corporate sponsors and donors.
  • Manage high-level executive volunteer leadership committees.
  • Travel 15%–20%, including some nights and weekends and periodic travel to Memphis, TN for enterprise events.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
