About The Position

As a Systems Engineer on RSP, you'll be part of a cross-functional engineering team delivering hardware, software and systems solutions. This Systems Engineer role may focus on one or more of the following areas: Test & Integration Engineering: hardware/software validation, verification, and performance testing; Requirements Engineering: documenting, analyzing, and managing system requirements; Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): system modeling, simulations, and design analysis; Hardware-Systems Engineering: design, integration, and troubleshooting of hardware systems. The role involves executing systems engineering activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, documenting and managing system requirements, and participating in design reviews, verification, and validation activities. The position also emphasizes the ability to leverage generative AI tools to accelerate systems engineering tasks and comfort working with enterprise AI platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering, including Test & Integration, Requirements, MBSE, or Hardware-Systems.
  • Knowledge of systems design, MBSE modeling, and simulation.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (DOORS, Cameo, or similar).
  • Experience with defense, aerospace, or mission-critical systems.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and technical standards.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving systems.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Passion for innovation in defense technology.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute systems engineering activities in Test & Integration, Requirements, MBSE, or Hardware-Systems, depending on focus area.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Document, review, and manage system requirements using requirements management tools and MBSE.
  • Participate in design reviews, verification, and validation activities.
  • Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate systems engineering tasks such as requirements analysis, test documentation, design trade studies, and report summarization.
  • Work with enterprise AI platforms and multiple AI models, understanding when and how to apply AI effectively while following established guardrails for handling CUI and proprietary data.
  • Stay current with evolving AI capabilities and adopt new AI-enabled workflows to improve engineering productivity and quality.
