About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a Sr Advanced Program Finance Specialist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to advance cutting-edge technology supporting national defense and intelligence services. The specialist will work closely with customers to develop solutions for high-stakes national security missions. The position requires managing financials for large and/or complex programs, including fixed-price contracts and competitive product lines. Familiarity with ERP systems, financial technologies, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and Sarbanes-Oxley Act is expected. Experience with proposal support, such as financial modeling, IRR/present value analysis, or labor projections, as well as background in government accounting, TINA compliance, or equivalent policies, is also beneficial.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced financial analysis skills with the ability to assess complex data and deliver clear insights to senior leadership
  • Highly proficient knowledge of General Ledger Accounting, rates, compliance, and cost proposal functions
  • Strong command of ERP systems and related technologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, FAR, CAS, TINA, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines across various stakeholders with accuracy and timeliness
  • Experience in a government contracting environment is strongly preferred
  • U.S. citizenship is required

  • Ability to identify and apply AI tools for continuous process improvement and innovation
  • Demonstrated initiative in executing projects independently with minimal direction
  • Experience presenting financial program status directly to customers at significant program reviews
  • Proven ability to develop proposals including ECP, CAPEX business cases, ROMs, or Financial Management Reviews
  • CPA or CMA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and presenting program financial status — including orders, funding, sales, profit, and cash flow — to senior program management and customers at formal reviews
  • Managing accounts receivable, cash contributions, billing preparation, and cash collection across assigned programs
  • Supporting month-end close activities and earnings rate reviews in compliance with GAAP and GDMS policies
  • Leading financial planning activities including overhead budgets, capital budgeting, forecasting, and strategic long-range planning
  • Participating in audit preparations and inter-company transaction compliance reviews
