About The Position

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records. This position is responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting, to support the company’s financial health and compliance. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement process improvements. The Senior Accounting Specialist will also assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements. Ultimately, this position contributes to strategic decision-making by providing reliable financial insights and maintaining adherence to regulatory standards. The Senior Accounting Specialist utilizes their strong accounting knowledge daily to prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP. Analytical skills are essential for identifying discrepancies and improving financial processes, while proficiency in accounting software and Excel enables efficient data management and reporting. Communication skills are used to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external auditors, ensuring clarity and resolution of financial issues. Preferred skills such as ERP system experience and advanced Excel capabilities enhance the ability to manage complex datasets and streamline accounting workflows. Overall, these skills combine to support the organization’s financial integrity and strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3~5 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AR, AP and General Accounting
  • Experience with Government Audit & Compliances
  • Familiarity with US tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Previous experience in a senior or lead accounting role.
  • Advanced Excel skills including macros and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries for tax accounts, account reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with quarterly Estimated tax preparation and gather supporting documents.
  • Assist in monthly ledger closing procedures, including accurate AP accrual entries, fixed asset capitalization, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and act as an accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to improve financial processes.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing requested audit schedules (PBCs), providing documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, US GAAP/IFRS accounting standards, and regulatory/internal control (SOX) requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures.
