Sr. Accounting Specialist - Payroll

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in payroll
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and Outlook
- Strong understanding of payroll-specific principles, records management, and reconciliation processes
- Ability to analyze payroll-related information and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or Applied Associate’s degree in accounting
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or comparable ERP systems
- Experience with Paylocity or comparable HRIS/Payroll systems
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable financial regulations
Responsibilities
- Perform payroll-related general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis
- Prepare periodic financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation to facilitate things like inquiry responses, census filing, and grant expenditures
- Reconcile bank accounts and other payroll-related financial accounts in a timely and accurate manner
- Review and validate financial data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures
