About The Position

Sloan is the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial plumbing systems and has been in operation since 1906. We are at the forefront of the green building movement and provide sustainable restroom solutions. We manufacture water- efficient products including flush valves, electronic faucets, soap dispensing and sink systems along with vitreous china fixtures for commercial, industrial and institutional markets worldwide. We have an opening for a Sr Accountant based in our Franklin Park, IL headquarters. In this role you be responsible for performing accounting and other financially related tasks including month end close, posting journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and processing of CONCUR credit card transactions. You will also be instrumental in the preparation for the external audit as well as sales tax audits.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
5+ Years Relevant Experience
Ability to use discretion when working with confidential information.
Advanced level experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Analyzes information and uses logic to address work-related issues and problems.
Excellent analytical skills and an aptitude for numbers.
General experience working with SAP ERP Business System.
Understanding of the Principals of Accounting, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliation.

Nice To Haves

Certified Public Account (CPA) preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly/weekly Concur Corporate credit card transactions data for the GL posting and the month end accrual as well
Prepare and upload month end journal entries to SAP.
Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate.
Preparing year-end audit workpapers, interacting with external auditors, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, GASB, or tax regulations
Monthly financial statement close work completed in accordance with closing schedule
Identifying efficiencies in accounting processes, implementing new technologies, and updating internal control policies.
