About The Position

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries, maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with daily and monthly cash reconciliation processes. This role also involves supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, preparing financial analyses, identifying process improvements, and assisting with external audits. The position requires strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, proficiency in financial reporting systems, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The Sr. Accountant must also uphold integrity, comply with company policies, and deliver excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and move throughout all areas of the property, including stairways and escalators
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds, and perform activities such as reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to respond appropriately to visual and auditory cues and communicate clearly and persuasively
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and standard office equipment
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree. Accounting, finance, or business preferred
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including experience in a multi-entity or regulated environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting practices, with demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft 365 applications
  • Ability to obtain a Casino Gaming Employee (CGE) license within the State of Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, including payroll, fixed assets, p-card, commissions, tax accruals, general accruals, and other general ledger adjustments
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Assist with the daily and monthly cash reconciliation processes, including cash sheets and bank account reconciliations
  • Perform administrative duties to support the ongoing monthly reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across multiple entities
  • Prepare financial analyses and supporting schedules for management reporting, audits, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations
  • Assist with external audit/review processes, including preparation of schedules, supporting documentation, and auditor/commission requests
  • Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring proper segregation of duties and compliance with company procedures
  • Deliver internal and external customer service in line with company culture and values and ensure compliance with all company policies and federal, state and local laws
