The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure timely and accurate accounting for project costs and fixed assets. Performs complex, professional, technical work related to the preparation and the maintenance of the company’s fixed asset records and systems. This position is responsible for related balance sheet reconciliations and process development within the department. This position works with various financial and governmental auditors with respect to project and audit preparations. Considerable judgment and independence are required to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, rules, and State and Federal laws and regulations. Job Functions: Records fixed asset additions and retirements in PowerPlan. Assists in formulating accounting policy and procedures involved in the tracking of project costs and maintenance of property, plant, and equipment records. Reconciles plant-related balance sheet accounts. Assists in reviewing, interpreting, and correcting all information in PowerPlan. Works with various business unit representatives to resolve questions related to project costs. Ability to cover all Fixed Asset Accounting duties during absence of others in group. Performs research, journal entries, and fixed asset entries, as needed. Identify issues or factors inhibiting progress on individual projects, collect and analyze data.
