Location: Westchester Workplace type: Hybrid Ingredion is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Tax Analyst, Sales and Use Tax to support accurate and compliant indirect tax operations across the U.S. and Canada. In this role, you will ensure timely, reliable financial reporting while supporting compliance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. As a Sr. Tax Analyst, Sales and Use Tax, you will play a key role in overseeing U.S. sales & use tax and Canadian GST/HST compliance. You will report to the Domestic Tax Director and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, shared services, and external consultants to maintain accurate reporting, ensure audit readiness, and support system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 6+ years of multistate sales and use tax experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Required experience with Vertex and Accelerator Tools.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, business risk management, and U.S./CA indirect tax laws.
  • Ability to interpret financial results, analyze tax implications, and support business decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring financial professionals.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP and SAP BW experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, including Vertex-related sales and use tax accruals and reversals, ensuring compliance with company policy.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of sales, use, and other indirect tax returns to ensure accurate and timely reporting across U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Manage documentation and support for internal and external audits, including sales and use tax compliance audits and regulatory notices.
  • Own and maintain SOX-related controls and processes, including oversight of customer and vendor exemption certificates to ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations.
  • Monitor state and local tax law changes, lead Vertex system updates, and support continuous improvement initiatives across Vertex, SAP, and exemption certificate systems.
  • Conduct research on tax issues and regulatory changes, communicating findings and implications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with business units, third‑party consultants, and the Tulsa Shared Service Center to support alignment on tax requirements, nexus reviews, and potential exposure analyses.
