About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Accounting Technology & Financial Accounting, the Sr. Accountant, Financial Accounting is responsible for leading complex accounting activities across financial reporting, multi-entity consolidation, and fixed asset/technology accounting. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, exercises judgment on non-routine transactions, and serves as a technical resource for other team members. Requires flexibility to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines with minimal direct supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to financial statement preparation, month-end close, and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word required; Access a plus)
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, with ability to research and apply guidance to complex or non-routine transactions
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and competing deadlines
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment on non-routine accounting matters and know when to escalate
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally, in a professional manner
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to change and quickly learn new processes
  • Team player who is flexible, open to challenges, and comfortable interacting with all levels of company personnel

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s and/or CPA preferred.
  • Experience with multi-entity or international consolidations is strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting or audit experience a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials (EBS or Fusion Cloud) preferred
  • Experience with multi-entity or international consolidation processes preferred
  • CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process fixed assets, including mass additions, asset classifications, and depreciation; prepare supporting schedules and perform capitalization and impairment reviews
  • Assist with technology and fixed asset reporting
  • Ensure software development capitalization rules are appropriately applied for ASC 350-40
  • Review and approve technology requisitions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment
  • Serve as subject matter expert on general ledger structure and budget uploads
  • Prepare/review journal entries for close and deliver timely reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Prepare/review monthly account reconciliations, meeting deadlines and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Perform expense variance analysis, identifying and explaining significant trends
  • Participate in balance sheet review meetings and other executive-level discussions, communicating clearly on financial results and risk areas
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and eliminations to ensure accuracy
  • Identify and resolve consolidation discrepancies, escalating complex issues as needed
  • Research technical accounting issues and prepare memorandums documenting conclusions on non-routine or complex transactions
  • Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
  • Support the year-end audit, including preparation of schedules and timely response to auditor inquiries
  • Participate in system testing and implementation projects as needed
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, proactively identifying gaps or process improvements
  • Serve as a resource/collaborator for team on technical accounting questions
  • Partner cross-functionally on accounting-related matters
  • Cross-train team members on processes to strengthen bench depth and continuity
  • Participate in special projects, including system implementations and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain current technical knowledge through professional education, publications, and professional organizations (e.g., CPA CPE requirements)
