About The Position

Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking a highly organized Sr. Accountant/Controller to serve as the financial and operational backbone of a growing education and language services company. This hands-on generalist role covers finance, payroll, some HR, compliance, and vendor management, and is suited to someone who thrives on variety and ownership. The position is full-time and in-office at the company's Wilmington, Delaware office on Augustine Cutoff. Requirements

At least 5 years of bookkeeping, payroll, and/or office management experience.
Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks Online.
Knowledge of multi-state business filings, 1099s, and W-2 processing.
Experience administering employee benefits and 401(k) plans.
Comfort using AI tools in daily work.
Problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Payroll platform experience, with Paychex preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage monthly billing, invoicing, and collections across multiple business lines.
Handle cash management, banking, and reconciliations.
Oversee accounts payable, vendor compliance, and preparation of 1099s.
Track contracts, purchase orders, and corporate governance records.
Run payroll for 26 cycles per year, administer benefits, and manage 401(k) compliance.
Manage hiring, onboarding, and HR administration.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Handle tax filings, multi-state compliance, and coordination with the CPA.
Maintain insurance coverage, fixed assets, and facility safety compliance.
