About The Position

The Sr. Account Manager for General Motors is responsible for the overall sales growth strategy and business development activities required to create a profitable book of business for Magna Exteriors. Working in partnership with stakeholders from management, business development, operations, product development and engineering, the Sr. Account Manager will drive efforts to develop, coordinate, and achieve all short- and long-term growth objectives for Magna Exteriors. Magna Exteriors is a global leader in automotive exterior components, including access systems, exterior trim, and modular systems. We are committed to innovation and developing state-of-the-art vehicles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ Years of sales experience, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Demonstrates effective analytical thinking; Uses sound logic and methods to enable sustainable solutions; Demonstrates ability to find creative solutions.
  • Demonstrates clear and respectful communication skills for all situations; Demonstrates openness and responsiveness to feedback; Demonstrates credible communication skills in both small and large groups.
  • Sets short and long-term goals and objectives that are aligned to Magna and Magna Exteriors; Makes clear and concise decisions using available data and others’ expertise; Innovative and strategic thinker who displays strong entrepreneurial behaviors.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the automotive industry as well as the trends and conditions; Demonstrates an understanding of the Magna Exteriors strategy; Demonstrates an understanding of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses in the marketplace; Demonstrates the ability to apply the market information to their area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Create, plan and lead the development of growth strategies for Magna Exteriors.
  • Fully understand the products assigned (manufacturing processes, cost drivers, margin enablers, etc).
  • Build and influence relationships with key decision makers to gain new business opportunities.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the product plan and develop strategies for market penetration.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Leads to set goals and action plans for Target Pursuit.
  • Plan, lead and manage the quote process for targeted programs with affected divisions and the group office.
  • Ensure program deliverables and timing are understood by the division(s) and support functions to ensure all customer expectations are met.
  • Plan, lead and manage all commercial elements of targeted programs from acquisition through launch and serial production.
  • Acceptance of other job duties as required and/or assigned, which could be outside of the scope of normal activities to support the entire sales team.
  • Represent Magna Exteriors professionally and with a high level of integrity and enthusiasm.
  • Develop professional relationships of trust and integrity with the customer, divisions, teams, peers and suppliers that support company growth.
  • Network effectively to utilize resources within our company.
  • Ensure divisions are trained and competent in customer process and procedures.
