The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & test parts/equipment on construction equipment at an expert level, as well as lead and coach other technicians. This role involves using manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, and parts diagrams for independent troubleshooting and repair. The technician will utilize various tools and equipment, including lift trucks, overhead cranes, hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Proficiency in using computer resources for parts information and data entry is essential. The role also includes disassembling/re-assembling parts, cleaning components, and reprogramming equipment controllers. A significant aspect of the job is performing advanced-level inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on engine, power train, hydraulic, and electrical components across numerous model lines. Leadership duties include assisting supervisors with performance appraisals, coaching and developing technicians, and directing daily job assignments for a squad of up to five or more technicians, ensuring proper troubleshooting techniques and adherence to customer and company expectations.
