About The Position

Saxon Global Inc. is seeking SQL Developers to support a long-standing eDiscovery and legal application used by global investigations and claims teams to research and manage litigation-related matters. The application has been in place for roughly 15 years, and the team is modernizing its environment as some underlying hardware and infrastructure approach end of support or warranty. The application brings together data from several business areas, including merchandising, recruiting, employee and people data, and other business datasets. Data volumes range from small datasets to large sales and transactional datasets. The front end is a .NET application managed by an internal associate team; the primary need is additional back-end SQL development capacity. Data is primarily stored and processed in SQL Server, with significant use of stored procedures. The role will join an existing application environment and work with multiple development and support teams. The position is onsite in Bentonville, Arkansas, four to five days per week, during standard business hours. The opportunity is for 12+ months, W2 only, and relocation candidates are welcome.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on SQL Server development experience.
• Strong T-SQL skills.
• Experience creating, modifying, and maintaining stored procedures.
• Comfort working with stored procedures of medium to higher complexity, including combining multiple datasets and applying business logic.
• Strong experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Ability to troubleshoot and improve poorly performing SQL queries.
• Experience working with both smaller datasets and large transactional datasets.
• Comfort joining an existing application environment and partnering with multiple development and support teams.
• Ability to work onsite in Bentonville during standard business hours.

Nice To Haves

• Google BigQuery experience.
• Experience with Flyway or similar database version control or deployment tooling.
• Experience supporting or modernizing legacy applications and database environments.
• Experience with merchandising/catalog, employee/people, recruiting, sales, or other complex enterprise datasets.
• Previous Walmart or Sam's Club experience.
• Exposure to eDiscovery, legal, investigations, or claims-related data.

Responsibilities
