About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for its Footwear Lab in Bentonville, Arkansas, to join the Softlines team. The role performs and coordinates testing activities in the footwear laboratory to meet laboratory service requirements. Intertek’s Softlines Testing services help retailers, brands, and manufacturers ensure the safety and quality of textiles, apparel, footwear, and home textiles. The position is on-site and has a schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The stated pay range is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Compensation may vary based on candidates’ skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare test specimens, perform tests, and report results in the Laboratory LIMS system.
• Perform physical, color-fastness, and pH-value tests on footwear products and materials.
• Read, understand, and follow laboratory standard operating procedures, standard test methods, and client test methods as required.
• Coordinate work with department team members to complete testing and reporting and issue reports in a timely manner.
• Communicate with the account manager to obtain required samples or clarify project details with the client.
• Communicate project status to the Team Leader or Lab Manager and promptly inform the account manager of delays.
• Support test selection, review laboratory test results, and explain test results.
• Help maintain inventory of laboratory and equipment supplies and compile timely supply orders.
• Organize tested and remnant samples for archiving by the logistics department.
• Demonstrate test procedures to auditors and clients, and support account managers during client visits.
• Assist with ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation and calibration activities.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance and quality control checks on equipment.
• Maintain the general cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory.
