About The Position
We are looking for a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in SQL Server administration, Azure SQL, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and CI/CD pipeline engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, automation, cloud migrations, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure provisioning across on-prem and cloud database platforms. This role requires a blend of traditional DBA skills and modern DevOps practices to enable automated, secure, and scalable database operations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with SQL Server administration, Azure SQL, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and CI/CD pipeline engineering.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
- Manage Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance environments.
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and patching.
- Implement and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions including: Always-On Availability Groups, Clustering, Replication, Backup and Recovery.
- Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity.
- Troubleshoot production database issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Manage Azure SQL and cloud-hosted database platforms.
- Support database migration from on-premises SQL environments to Azure.
- Implement database security, encryption, and compliance controls.
- Optimize cloud database performance and cost.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules for database infrastructure provisioning.
- Automate deployment of: Azure SQL Databases, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Resource Groups, Network components, Monitoring solutions.
- Manage Terraform state, modules, and environment configurations.
- Implement infrastructure standards and governance through IaC.
- Design and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
- Automate SQL code deployments, rollback procedures, and release approvals.
- Create YAML-based deployment pipeline.
