Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Developer in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency in T-SQL and SQL Server development, including complex Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers.
  • Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance database solutions.
  • Proven expertise in logical and physical data modeling, relational database design, normalization, and schema optimization.
  • Deep understanding of SQL Server internals, including transactions, isolation levels, locking, concurrency and error handling.
  • Extensive experience with query performance tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.
  • Ability to refactor and optimize legacy database code for scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, bulk data loads, batch processing, and migration performance optimization.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot etc.) to accelerate coding velocity, including leveraging custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to extend AI context into our proprietary internal services and modernize team workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with application developers, architects, DBAs, and data engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with version control, database deployment practices, and code review processes.
  • Must have methods for problem solving, strong database experience, including index strategies, performance tuning and optimization, and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with C#/.NET Core development.
  • Understanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team.
  • Proven excellent technical and business communication skills at various organizational levels.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
