About The Position

Homefree is a gluten-free, allergen friendly (free of the top 14) wholesale baking facility specializing in cookies and brownies. Our mission is to create delicious products while minimizing our environmental footprint and supporting our community. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to take on a combined role as SQF Practitioner and Administrative Assistant. This position will lead the implementation and management of our Safe Quality Food (SQF) program and support administrative tasks related to certifications such as Organic, GFCO, Kosher, Non-GMO, Vegan, and EcoVadis. A key part of this role involves managing and navigating various industry portals including Sysco, Sodexo, Share-ify, and Syndigo or demonstrating a willingness to learn these systems.

Requirements

  • Experience with or willingness to learn industry portals like Sysco, Sodexo, Share-ify, and Syndigo.
  • Strong Organizational, communication, and training skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for sustainability and working in environmentally responsible organizations is highly valued.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an SQF Practitioner or in food safety within food manufacturing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with managing certifications such as listed above is a plus.
  • Food safety, HACCP, or quality management certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain SQF system documentation and procedures tailored to our baking operations.
  • Conduct internal SQF audits and coordinate external certifications such as Vegan and Non-GMO which do not require internal audits.
  • Train employees in SQF protocols and food safety best practices aligned with our sustainability commitments.
  • Support the administration and renewal of certifications as listed above.
  • Manage relationships and data submission through market portals such as Sysco, Sodexo, Share-ify, and Syndigo.
  • Monitor compliance, prepare reports, and manage corrective actions.
  • Stay current on food safety regulations, certification standards, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure smooth certification processes and continuous improvement.
