The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management. What You’ll Do: Work with production or program management to determine production-staffing requirements. Assign staff to support production or program schedules. Conceive, develop, and implement solutions to specific production or program problems. Ensure production tasks are completed according to production or program requirements and schedules. Ensure employees are properly trained and receive the supervision and direction needed to accomplish their work assignments in an efficient and cost-effective manner observing all applicable work rules, safety rules, department directives, and company policies. Write and conduct performance appraisals. Maintain assigned lab spaces including, but not limited to, FOD control, ESD, safety audits, compressed gas inventory, etc. Prepare and maintain required records and reports in accordance with company policies and government policies. May manage the implementation of existing or new policies or procedures. Develop and coach direct reports on systems, technical expertise, problem solving, and contributing to positive work culture. Support continuous progress towards a Lean working environment by aligning to customer value and developing capabilities to solve problems to achieve that value. Willing and capable of creating partnerships with cross-functional leaders to ensure successful execution of program activities. Role also includes performing duties as a technician for approximately 60% of the time including: Role tasks may include cleaning, parts/materials preparation, mechanical /electrical assembly, soldering, polymerics processing, adhesive/bonding, masking, and paint operations. While executing manufacturing operations apply an advanced level of knowledge and skills in hardware assembly, troubleshooting and repair. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary.
