About The Position

The Office of Admissions at Colorado State University is responsible for coordinating enrollment efforts across the university, focusing on inclusive recruitment, counseling, marketing, application strategy, and technical support for prospective students. The office aims to enroll a student body consistent with the university's mission of access, research, teaching, service, and engagement. Through innovative and strategic approaches, Admissions seeks to attract a diverse and well-prepared student body while upholding its land-grant mission. This role involves actively recruiting first-year students to the Spur Start program by serving as a guide and advocate for prospective students, families, and communities within Colorado. The position will engage with prospective students and families virtually and in person through various channels, including email, phone, text, custom campus visits, and video. This role will directly oversee and supervise the Spur Start Ambassador program and represent the university at recruitment events, information sessions, and off-site community engagements. This is a twelve-month, full-time permanent position with some travel and evening/weekend responsibilities, based at the CSU Spur Campus in Denver, CO.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills
  • Fluent in Spanish both written and spoken
  • An understanding and commitment to CSU's values and guiding principles
  • An understanding of the Land Grant Mission of CSU
  • Two years of employment experience in education, higher education, or access programs
  • Ability to work irregular work hours, including nights and weekends
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License or have access to a licensed driver at the time of application
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date

Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment and activities at CSU Spur campus and represent Spur Start at recruitment events
  • Serve as the point of contact for the CSU Spur Education team to coordinate group visits and presentations
  • Guide prospect students and their families through the application process
  • Respond to students via phone, email, text, and in person
  • Directly supervise student staff by coaching and managing schedules
  • Lead/facilitate Spur campus programming
  • Serve as point of contact for event logistics
  • Collaborate with the CSU Admissions Engagement and Outreach team
