SPS Technician (Noncertified)
About The Position
MidState Medical Center is part of Hartford HealthCare, a comprehensive healthcare network. The SPS Technician performs sterile processing duties, including decontamination, sterilization, supply, case cart assembly, and packaging. The role ensures documentation is completed so the department can distribute high-quality sterile products efficiently and meet customer requirements. The technician maintains thorough knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, utilization, and sterile processing; independently runs the floor in the supervisor’s absence and performs and delegates assigned duties; and collaborates with the O.R. to provide the instrumentation required for patient care. The position reports to the Manager.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Current Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD), or ability to become certified within 18 months of hire.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in Central Sterile Supply is preferred.
