Central Sterile Technician - Noncertified (Per Diem)
About The Position
Hartford Hospital is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join their team as a Non-Certified SPS Technician. This role involves training under direct supervision for a minimum of 60 days, performing duties such as decontamination, instrument assembly, packaging, sterilization, and case cart assembly. Upon successful completion of the training program and validation of skills, this position prepares the individual for Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification and promotion to SPS Tech 1. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must obtain "Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification" from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM within 24 months of hire (in accordance with CT state law).
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, instrument assembly, packaging, sterilization, and case cart assembly under direct supervision.
- Train under the direct supervision of SPS Technician 3 or other assigned trainer for a minimum of 60 days.
- Have job skills assessed and validated by their trainer and the SPS Site Manager before completion of the training program.
- Prepare for obtaining Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification and promotion to SPS Tech 1.
