About The Position

In this role, you will support customers by inspecting, testing, servicing, and maintaining life safety systems with accuracy, professionalism, and a strong focus on safety. Role Overview As a Sprinkler Inspector, you will perform routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler, and Suppression life safety product lines, as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ product lines. You will work in the field, document findings clearly, and help ensure systems remain compliant, reliable, and ready to perform when needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and retain any licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Experience using hand tools and a multimeter.
  • Capability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Willingness to travel out of town.
  • Strong customer service skills, organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fire protection, sprinkler inspection, service, or installation.
  • Familiarity with wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
  • Progress toward NICET certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on life safety systems and related equipment.
  • Inspect wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
  • Accurately identify, document, and report deficiencies found during inspections.
  • Complete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding using communicating devices such as laptops, smartphones, and hardcopy documentation.
  • Follow a highly structured inspection schedule and complete assigned inspections on time.
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected when appropriate.
  • Assist the foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
