About The Position

Our Certified Sprinkler Fitters specialize in asset protection, sprinkler systems, and firefighting equipment maintenance at our wood fiber manufacturing plant. This role plays a key role in safeguarding our facility against potential hazards and ensuring operational resilience. Key responsibilities include protecting assets, conserving property, maintaining sprinkler systems, and ensuring the readiness and functionality of firefighting equipment. We’re looking for a Certified Sprinkler Fitter to join our Lakeview Division located in Williams Lake, British Columbia. Requirements

  • Certified Sprinkler Fitter or equivalent trade qualification preferred.
  • 3+ years fire-protection or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of sprinkler systems, fire-prevention regulations, and industrial fire risks.
  • Strong communication and safety-leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in forestry, sawmills, or heavy industry an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and maintain sprinkler systems, valves, hydrants, fire pumps, and alarms.
  • Conduct regular fire-safety audits and hazard assessments across the mill.
  • Lead fire-prevention programs, hot-work permitting, and combustible-dust monitoring.
  • Coordinate emergency response and fire-drill training for employees.
  • Maintain compliance documentation for BC Fire Code, NFPA standards, WorkSafeBC, and insurance requirements.
  • Liaise with local fire authorities and external inspectors.
