About The Position

Ahern is seeking qualified applicants for the Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship program to work within the Stevens Point, Wausau, and Waupaca, WI areas. This is a 5-year apprenticeship program working side-by-side with a journeymen sprinkler fitter installing automatic fire protection systems. Your employment relationship will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement. Apprentices will complete on-the-job training and 5 years of corresponding coursework toward becoming a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter. Upon completion of the apprenticeship program, Journeymen earn over double the apprentice hourly rate!

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
• Able to travel for the position.
• Pass an appropriate drug screen and physical.
• Self-starters.
• Strong mechanical background.
• Good working and learning attitude.
• Able to work in a fast-paced construction environment (both in and outdoors).

Responsibilities

• Install automatic fire protection systems.
• Complete on-the-job training.
• Complete 5 years of corresponding coursework toward becoming a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter.
