About The Position

Fanatics Commerce is seeking a Spreader Operator to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate, high-quality fabric spreading and cutting operations to support on-time licensed apparel production. The Spreader Operator will be responsible for loading, operating, and maintaining spreading equipment to create precise fabric spreads that meet quality standards and cutting specifications. This includes verifying fabric accuracy against cut tickets, documenting yardage and roll data, and ensuring defect-free material reaches the cutting stage. The role emphasizes delivering business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and stand for extended periods throughout a full production shift.
  • Ability to read and write in the English language to accurately interpret cut tickets, complete production paperwork, and follow written instructions.
  • Availability and flexibility to work a production shift with overtime as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify fabric defects, verify ply heights, and ensure spread accuracy against cut tickets.
  • Organized and self-directed, with the ability to follow multi-step instructions and maintain a structured, efficient workstation.
  • Demonstrated reliability and a production-oriented mindset suited to a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing environment.

  • Prior experience operating spreading equipment or working in a cut-and-sew or apparel manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Load, operate, and maintain spreading equipment to build precise fabric spreads.
  • Verify fabric accuracy against cut tickets.
  • Document yardage and roll data.
  • Ensure defect-free material reaches the cutting stage.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and production teammates to coordinate fabric workflows and meet daily spread targets.
  • Communicate clearly across the production floor to flag fabric issues, roll discrepancies, or equipment concerns.
  • Uphold accuracy in spread construction to prevent quality issues.
  • Contribute to on-time production output.
  • Identify fabric defects and spread irregularities early in the production process and propose corrective actions.
  • Look for opportunities to improve spreading efficiency.
  • Apply attention to detail and pattern recognition to catch dye lot inconsistencies or cut ticket mismatches.
  • Embrace new equipment, tools, or process improvements with a curiosity-driven, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Operate spreading equipment with precision, maintaining consistent edge quality and ply counts.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately, including yardage logs, roll counts, dye lot records, and cut ticket documentation.
  • Manage physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 45 lbs and sustained standing, with discipline and reliability across full production shifts, including overtime as required.
  • Take personal ownership of assigned spread work from fabric matching through table pull-down.
  • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
  • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance.
