About The Position

The Spreader Operator is responsible for loading, operating, and maintaining spreading equipment to build precise fabric spreads that meet quality standards and cutting specifications. This role verifies fabric accuracy against cut tickets, documents yardage and roll data, and ensures defect-free material reaches the cutting stage. The Spreader Operator delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and stand for extended periods throughout a full production shift.
  • Ability to read and write in the English language to accurately interpret cut tickets, complete production paperwork, and follow written instructions.
  • Availability and flexibility to work a production shift with overtime as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify fabric defects, verify ply heights, and ensure spread accuracy against cut tickets.
  • Organized and self-directed, with the ability to follow multi-step instructions and maintain a structured, efficient workstation.
  • Demonstrated reliability and a production-oriented mindset suited to a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing environment.

  • Prior experience operating spreading equipment or working in a cut-and-sew or apparel manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with supervisors and production teammates to coordinate fabric workflows and meet daily spread targets on time.
  • Communicate clearly across the production floor to flag fabric issues, roll discrepancies, or equipment concerns before they impact downstream cutting operations.
  • Support a culture of accountability by consistently following instructions, maintaining organized workstations, and contributing to a reliable, high-output team environment.
  • Ensure the correct fabric is matched to each cut sheet so that every officially licensed garment meets the quality fans expect.
  • Check spreads for fabric defects and verify ply height to prevent quality issues from advancing to finished product.
  • Uphold accuracy in spread construction so that licensed apparel reaching fans reflects the standards of the world's most iconic sports properties.
  • Contribute to on-time production output that enables Fanatics Commerce to fulfill fan orders reliably across global channels.
  • Identify fabric defects and spread irregularities early in the production process, proposing immediate corrective actions to minimize waste and rework.
  • Look for opportunities to improve spreading efficiency, such as optimizing roll loading sequences or reducing fabric waste through precise measurements.
  • Apply attention to detail and pattern recognition to catch dye lot inconsistencies or cut ticket mismatches before they compound downstream.
  • Embrace new equipment, tools, or process improvements introduced to the production floor with a curiosity-driven, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Operate spreading equipment with precision, maintaining consistent edge quality and ply counts that meet production standards every shift.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately, including yardage logs, roll counts, dye lot records, and cut ticket documentation, with no shortcuts.
  • Manage physical demands of the role — including lifting up to 45 lbs and sustained standing — with discipline and reliability across full production shifts, including overtime as required.
  • Take personal ownership of assigned spread work from fabric matching through table pull-down, ensuring each spread is ready for the cutting machine without delay.
  • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
  • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working.
