About The Position

This role involves coating high-tech electronics according to specific manufacturing traveler instructions, utilizing both hand application and touch-up techniques. The position requires knowledge of various coating mediums used for different customer products. The job involves standing or sitting for extended periods during the coating operation and requires the ability to operate and adjust spray guns based on coating types. It also involves mixing the correct thinner-to-coating ratio for optimal coverage and protection, and working with two-part coatings. Additionally, the role requires knowledge of coating removal methods specific to the materials being used. Time management is crucial for organizing setup time while managing other ongoing coating tasks. Proficiency in computer skills is necessary for operating automated spray machines like Precision Coat and Parylene Coating Machines. The ability to read and interpret manufacturing travelers and drawings associated with customer assemblies is essential. The use of microscopes and magnifying glasses may be required. The role also requires tolerance for the smell of coatings and thinners. Work is performed in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, requiring the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good manual dexterity and the ability to work with fine tools are necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time during the coating operation.
  • Ability to work with spray guns and adjust them accordingly.
  • Ability to mix the right amount of thinner to coating mixture.
  • Ability to mix and work with 2 part coatings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of coating removal methods.
  • Time management skills.
  • Good computer skills to run automated spray machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret a Manufacturing Traveler.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/working travelers.
  • Work in a fast paced, detailed oriented environment.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a group.
  • Good dexterity and ability to work well with hands.
  • Able to work with fine tools (i.e. Xacto knifes, paint brushes, tweezers, orange sticks, micrometers).
  • Able to tolerance the smell of coatings and thinners.

Responsibilities

  • Coat high-tech electronics to exact specifications outlined on the Manufacturing Traveler.
  • Apply coatings by hand and use touch-up techniques.
