About The Position

This role involves coating high-tech electronics according to specific manufacturing traveler instructions, utilizing both hand application and touch-up techniques. The position requires knowledge of various coating mediums and the ability to mix and work with 2-part coatings. Responsibilities include operating and adjusting spray guns, managing thinner-to-coating mixtures for optimal coverage and protection, and understanding coating removal methods. The job also necessitates proficiency with automated spray machines and Parylene Coating Machines, requiring good computer skills. Additionally, the role involves reading and interpreting manufacturing travelers and drawings, working with microscopes or magnifying glasses, and tolerating the smell of coatings and thinners. The environment is fast-paced and detail-oriented, requiring the ability to work both independently and in a group, with good manual dexterity and the ability to use fine tools.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time during the coating operation.
  • Good computer skills to run automated spray machines and/or Parylene Coating Machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret Manufacturing Travelers associated with customer assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/working travelers.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a group.
  • Must have good dexterity and demonstrate the ability to work well with hands.
  • Must be able to work with fine tools (i.e. Xacto knifes, paint brushes, tweezers, orange sticks, micrometers).

  • Basic Computer skills to include but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.

Responsibilities

  • Coat high-tech electronics to exact specifications outlined on the Manufacturing Traveler.
  • Apply coatings by hand and use touch-up methods.
  • Understand various coating mediums used for different customers.
  • Mix and work with 2-part coatings.
  • Adjust and operate spray guns based on coating type.
  • Mix appropriate thinner-to-coating ratios for optimal coverage and protection.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of coating removal methods based on material type.
  • Manage setup time for sprayed materials while working on other assemblies.
  • Operate Precision Coat automated spray machines and/or Parylene Coating Machines.
  • Read and interpret Manufacturing Travelers and drawings.
  • Use microscopes and/or magnifying glasses as required.
  • Tolerate the smell of coatings and thinners.
  • Work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
  • Work independently and within a group.
  • Demonstrate good dexterity and ability to work well with hands.
  • Use fine tools such as Xacto knives, paint brushes, tweezers, orange sticks, and micrometers.
