About The Position

The Spray Foam Technician is responsible and accountable for working with team members to complete spray foam jobs and other necessary work as directed by the Operations Manager or company owners. This role requires thorough preparation, understanding the scope of work, and ensuring all necessary equipment, safety gear, tools, paperwork, and supplies are readily available. The technician will prepare the jobsite for installation, including unloading and positioning equipment. Depending on the product used, a supplied air or cartridge filter respirator may be required during application. Key responsibilities include surveying the jobsite to prevent overspray, protecting surrounding premises and vehicles, maintaining a safe distance for non-essential personnel, securing electrical and security wiring, and systematically performing caulking and foaming around windows and doors with careful judgment to avoid over-foaming. The technician must review their work to prevent callbacks, trim and bag scrapped foam materials, and maintain a high standard of clean-up before leaving any jobsite, ensuring all touch-up work is completed. They are also responsible for ensuring all company tools and equipment are accounted for, returned to the truck, and cleaned. Understanding spray equipment operating procedures and learning spraying techniques from experienced team leaders is crucial for developing efficient techniques that minimize waste and overspray. The role demands upholding Ecological Insulation's high-quality standards and working collaboratively with team members. Other duties may be assigned as management deems necessary.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License (Chauffer’s License preferred).
OSHA 10 (Required within first 100 days of employment).
Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Employee will be required to wear a respirator regularly.
Ability to work within crawlspaces and other tight quarters on a regular basis.
Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop or kneel.
Work is physically demanding and involves working in challenging environments, while maintaining focus and attention to safety and detail.
Work areas are typically residential attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
Temperature extremes are often present, including both very hot and very cold.

Nice To Haves

Problem solving skills – mechanical systems a plus – small engines, blowers, generators, insulation machines.
Experience with Blower Doors, Combustion Analysis, and Infrared Imaging a plus.
Construction trade experience is appreciated; roofs, drywall, siding, windows, etc.

Responsibilities

Work with team members to complete spray foam jobs and other necessary work.
Prepare thoroughly for each job, ensuring all necessary equipment, safety gear, tools, paperwork, and supplies are brought.
Make necessary preparations for installation at the jobsite by unloading and placing equipment.
Wear a supplied air or cartridge filter respirator as required.
Survey the jobsite and take steps to prevent and protect against overspray on premises and vehicles.
Keep people a minimum of 50 feet away from the immediate spray area.
Survey electrical and security wiring and secure them as necessary before spraying.
Approach prep work systematically to ensure no areas are missed.
Ensure can foaming and caulking are completed as necessary around windows, doors, etc., using good judgment to not over-foam.
Review work done to ensure there will be no callbacks.
Trim and bag ‘scrapped’ foam materials as it accumulates.
Maintain a high standard of clean-up before leaving any jobsite, ensuring all necessary touch-up work is completed.
Survey jobsite before leaving to ensure all company tools and equipment are picked up, returned to the truck, and cleaned.
Understand proper operating procedures of spray equipment and learn spraying techniques.
Develop good spray techniques to eliminate waste and overspray.
Uphold and protect the high quality standards of Ecological Insulation.
Work with team members.
Clock-in to the correct jobsite and select the correct task/work activities on the app/company-provided phone.
Report any equipment failures, breakdowns, and/or operating issues.
Document all work with photos of tasks being completed.
