About The Position
International Paper is seeking a 2nd Shift Spotter/Truck Driver (CDL Required) for their Newark Container facility. This role involves operating a yard truck for various drop and hook scenarios, staging trailers for loading and unloading, and performing some local runs. The position also includes daily inspections of the spotter truck and equipment, reporting any defects or incidents, maintaining logs, and checking trailer inventory. The driver will also be responsible for other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must have a CDL class A License
Responsibilities
- Operate the yard truck in a safe manner, during numerous drop & hook and staging scenarios involving both loaded and empty trailers.
- Spot positions loaded/unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loading.
- Spot trailers on lot and perform some local runs.
- Perform daily inspections on spotter truck and equipment.
- Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicles and/or equipment.
- Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel.
- Check trailer inventory and report any irregularities on log forms.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
