About The Position

This is a full-time position at Harrah's Gulf Coast. The Sportsbook Writer II will supervise all wagering policies, ensure compliance with AML & Title 31 procedures, and oversee the operations of the Sportsbook. This role involves managing personnel, developing operating plans, monitoring industry trends, and ensuring excellent customer service and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Sports enthusiast
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and employees.
Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
Ability to analyze financial statements.
Ability to explain wagering to new guests.
Ability to plan and execute departmental budget.
Excellent organizational skills.
2 years supervisory experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

College education with Financial or Business background preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises all wagering policies of the Race & Sports books.
Ensure all AML & Title 31 procedures are followed and tracked accurately.
Supervises the function of all personnel in Sportsbook Operations insuring maximum productivity.
Coaches, guides and instructs personnel in the proper performance of duties.
Administers evaluations, performance reviews and merit compensation within established guidelines. Maintains work schedules for assigned personnel.
Oversees personnel development including hiring, training, discipline and administration of merit system.
Develops and manages operating plan to ensure operating expenses meet established forecast goals.
Ensure Betting limits guidelines are followed.
Monitors competitors’ practices and technological innovations affecting the Race & Sports book betting industry. Remains aware of legislative action affecting business opportunities.
Insures customer recognition and development are foremost duties for all personnel, using tools available appropriately.
Ensures that departmental procedures conform to all regulatory requirements and provide maximum security for the company’s assets. Assures facilities and equipment are available and functioning properly.
Resolve any disputes by following posted house rules and working with local regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
