About The Position

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Sports Turf & Grounds, the Sports Turf Technician will assist with the preparation and maintenance of UCF Athletics facilities. This includes all practice and game fields for baseball, football, soccer, softball, intramural fields, and the on-campus football stadium.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one (1) year of relevant experience; or High school diploma and three (3) years of appropriate experience.
Relevant college coursework in sports turf, horticulture, or golf course management may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Integrity and character.
Commitment to customer service.
Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules as they apply to the UCF Athletics program.

Nice To Haves

Experience in athletic field or golf course preparation and maintenance.
Hands-on experience with skinned/clay surface management.
Demonstrated advancement in responsibilities.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform infield skin management and field repairs for baseball and softball.
Assist with field layout, painting, and logo marking for all athletic facilities.
Apply fertilizers and pesticides in compliance with applicable laws and maintain all necessary records.
Operate and maintain field maintenance equipment.
Support setup and breakdown for athletic events and practices.
Other duties as assigned.
