About The Position
The Citizen is seeking a sports reporter to join its award-winning staff in Auburn, covering the Cayuga County area of Central New York. The newspaper prints three times a week, with a primary focus on digital content for auburnpub.com. The role mainly involves covering high school sports across nine area districts, along with some college sports, the Auburn Doubledays summer baseball team, and the Great Race relay event. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, as well as the ability to take photos and videos, with a camera provided.

- Ability to write compellingly about games and athletes.
- Ability to take photos and video.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a bachelor's or master's program in journalism.
- Some experience working at a news publication.
